Conference Interactive Program
TRB 89th Annual Meeting (January 10-14, 2010)
Event Number:164
Event Title:Modeling Congestion Pricing Impacts
Event Date:Jan 10 2010 1:30PM- 4:30PM
Event Location:Shoreham, Palladian
Presiding Officers: Halkias, John A. - Federal Highway Administration
Sponsored By: Traffic Flow Theory and Characteristics (AHB45)

Event Description:Congestion pricing is a strategy for addressing congestion, mobility, and air quality. Pricing strategies range from HOT lanes to variable tolls, cordon charges, and systemwide charges. Simulation plays a key role in estimating the impacts of pricing projects before implementation. However, modeling the impacts of pricing on driver behavior is not straightforward. This workshop covers research activities, real-world project implementation, and modeling capabilities related to pricing.
